The power of the word

In every language, there are letters; by those, we make the word we use to communicate. Since time immemorial, words have always been used to express what is inside us and show our desires to others. Through words, we can show love and hate and our interest and multiple feelings, we can even affect others just by these words.

As we know the importance of words in our lives, we should see the importance of how they can affect  people positively or negatively.

Masaru Emoto was a Japanese author known for his claims that words, sounds, and thoughts directed toward the water affect the shape of the ice crystals, his experiment is considered one of the most bizarre and controversial scientific experiments.

His experiment consists of associating certain drops of water with a word that can be positive such as I love you, thank you, or a negative comment, such as I hate you, you annoy me, after applying these words to the water and then freeze it, he noticed under the microscope how the water crystals evolved intriguingly, the water treated with positive comments showed beautiful and harmonious shapes, while the water that was subjected to negative comments showed crystals in random and disorderly shapes.

If we consider that our bodies are more than 60% water and our brain is more than 70% water, what can happen in the brain when we constantly insult someone or when we continuously show them feelings of love?

Conversely, what effect does every molecule of water have in our bodies when we say to someone words like I love you, I appreciate you, I love what you did... This is what the controversial Japanese author wanted to convey to us.

Since words are the thing that is most reciprocated between humans, then the power of words lies in that they are the things that most affect the feelings and mentality of human beings, regardless of the validity of Masaru’s experience, if we consider ourselves in a place of water and are constantly exposed to negative words, there is no doubt that there is an effect, we must be careful in choosing the words we say to others and also in the environment around us, we must choose a healthy environment free of negativity, even from our thoughts It can have a more significant negative impact on ourselves than anything else.

There is a story about Thomas Edison, the most outstanding scientist and inventor of the twentieth century. When Edison was in primary school, a letter from the teacher came to his mother, started reading it silently while she was crying. Hence, Edison asked her what the content of the message was. She said the teacher says you are a genius, and the school can no longer absorb your superior abilities. That is why he asked me to find another school that suited your intelligence and genius; Edison was happy then. After that day, his mother delegated most of her time to teaching him and help him until Edison became the scientist we hear about today; Edison's mother died after a while. One day he was looking through her papers and came across that old letter from the teacher, which had a good effect on him at that time, found written in the following message:

To Mrs. Nancy Edison, we would like to inform you that your son is foolish and dull, and we are very tired of teaching him and would like you to find another school for him; Edison cried and said, "A wonderful mother turned an idiot into a genius."

So as we can see in the story, words have an incredible effect that we can't underestimate.

Here we have a video of Muhammad Al-Qahtani, winner of first place in the World Championship for Oratory and Recitation (Toastmasters 2015) among 30,000 subscribers from 100 different countries; However, Muhammad was the first Arab Muslim to achieve it in history, the actual achievement lies in the fact that Muhammad did not utter the first words until the age of six he suffered greatly from stuttering and difficulty speaking until recently, his speech was about "The power of the word."

As we know as Muslims that the message came to all messengers through words from the angels to guide humans and for the worship of God, doing good things and cultivating the earth and the most beautiful terms, which is the Quran, the word of Allah, can affect humans and calm their hearts, even demons were affected by the Quran.

Also, to enter Islam, you must utter the shahada, which are words that acknowledge the existence of one God and that the last of the Messengers is Muhammad, so how can we underestimate the power of words?
